    Mark Cutifani is the Chief Executive of Anglo American PLC. He has over 40 years of experience in the mining industry across a wide range of geographies and commodities. Mark is a member of the Board and Group Management Committee of Anglo American, is a non-executive director of Anglo American Platinum, Chairman of Anglo American South Africa and Chairman of De Beers.

    Mxolisi Mgojo has been in the mining industry since 2001. Prior to that, he spent ten years as a software engineer and eight years in the finance industry, including Societé Generale Investment Banking. Mxolisi has been with Exxaro Resources since its inception in 2006, heading the Base Metals and Industrial Minerals business before being appointed as the Executive Head of Coal in August 2008.

    Sandoval Carneiro Jr, FIEE, has a BSc Electrical Engineering from the Catholic University of São Paulo (1968), an MSc Electrical Engineering from the Graduate School of Engineering (COPPE) at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1971) and a PhD from the University of Nottingham, England (1976). From 1971 to 2011 he was an academic at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and was nominated Professor Emeritus in 1972.

    Professor Han Long graduated from Tsinghua University in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree, majoring in instrumentation and automation. He obtained his master’s degree in Mineral Process Engineering in 1989 and started his career at the Beijing General Research Institute of Mining & Metallurgy (BGRIMM). He is currently the General Manager of the BGRIMM Technology Group.

  • Professor Cyril O’Connor

    Professor Cyril O’Connor

    Cyril O'Connor is a chemical engineer with a PhD from the University of Cape Town and a Senior Doctorate (DEng) in Metallurgical Engineering from Stellenbosch University. He is a registered professional engineer with the Engineering Council of South Africa. He is also the founder Director of the Centre for Minerals Research and of the Institute for Catalysis Research, both of which are in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Cape Town.
